AERIAL YOGA CLASS – YOGA THAT DEFIES GRAVITY
How long is an Aerial yoga class?
The duration of an Aerial yoga class can vary depending on the programming and the level of intensity. Our standard classes run for approximately 60 minutes, which includes a 10-minute warm-up to prepare the body, 40 minutes of guided poses in the hammock, and a 10-minute cool-down with stretching and relaxation. Some beginner-friendly or introductory classes may be slightly shorter, around 50 minutes, to ease newcomers into the practice without overwhelming them.
On the other hand, advanced workshops or therapeutic sessions might extend to 75 or even 90 minutes, incorporating deeper stretches, strength-building sequences, or extended meditation. Private sessions can also be tailored to individual preferences, allowing for flexible scheduling. It’s best to check the studio’s timetable to find a class that fits your schedule and experience level.

How much does an Aerial yoga class cost?
An Aerial yoga class typically costs between for a single drop-in session. Our studio offer class packages or monthly memberships for regular practitioners. We provide introductory discounts for first-time students. It’s best to check with our studio for exact pricing and promotions.
Benefits of Aerial yoga
Aerial yoga offers a unique blend of physical and mental benefits that distinguish it from traditional mat-based yoga. One of the most notable advantages is spinal decompression, as the hammock gently elongates the vertebrae, relieving tension and alleviating back pain caused by prolonged sitting or poor posture. The practice also enhances core strength and stability, as many poses require engaging the abdominal muscles to maintain balance while suspended.
Unlike high-impact exercises, Aerial yoga is gentle on the joints, making it ideal for individuals with arthritis or those recovering from injuries. The inversions, such as supported headstands or flips, improve circulation and lymphatic drainage, while the rhythmic swinging motions can have a calming effect on the nervous system, reducing stress and anxiety.
Over time, participants often notice improved flexibility, better body awareness, and a sense of accomplishment as they master new poses. The playful, almost weightless sensation of floating in the hammock also adds an element of joy, making fitness feel more like fun than work.
Requirements for Aerial yoga
To ensure a safe and enjoyable Aerial yoga experience, there are a few practical requirements to keep in mind. Clothing should be snug but stretchy, such as leggings and a fitted top, to avoid fabric getting tangled in the hammock; avoid zippers, buttons, or loose garments that could catch on the fabric.
It’s advisable to refrain from eating a heavy meal at least two hours before class to prevent discomfort during inversions. Jewelry, watches, and sharp accessories should be removed to protect both the participant and the equipment. While no prior yoga or fitness experience is necessary, beginners should inform the instructor of any physical limitations to receive appropriate modifications.
Most studios have weight limits for their hammocks (usually around 250–300 pounds), so checking in advance is recommended. Hydration is key, so bringing a water bottle is encouraged, and arriving a few minutes early allows time to ask questions and get acclimated to the equipment.
