Why Do a Yoga Teacher’s Training Course?

A Yoga Teacher’s Training Course (YTTC) is more than just a certification—it’s a journey of personal growth, self-awareness, and evolution.

Development of the Self & Self-Awareness
Human life comes with the potential for growth. In yoga, we achieve this through the “expansion and evolution of the self” on three levels: body, breath, and mind.

In a Yoga Teacher’s Training Course, we work on developing strength, flexibility, and agility. Improving the body, increases our vital energy, which directly enhances our quality of life.
• Strength in the body makes us feel secure, grounded, stable, and helps us show up with confidence.
• Flexibility helps us feel open, adaptable, and relaxed—both physically and mentally.
• Agility (or pace) keeps us youthful, lively, and free in our movements and mindset.

BREATH
Better control of the breath leads to better control of the mind. For example, we can release negative emotions like fear, restlessness, anxiety, and nervousness—simply by changing our breathing patterns.
Taking longer and deeper breaths has an immediate calming effect on the mind, improving mental clarity and emotional balance.

MIND:

The aim of practising yoga is to refine the mind from a survival oriented to awareness & growth oriented existence.
We use the body, breath and mind itself to develop the mind. We explore the conscious mind through contemplation, following the principles or tenets of hatha and raja yoga.
